FRoSTA frozen foods

FRoSTA is a leading European frozen food brand recognized for its commitment to high-quality ingredients and transparency. The brand's history is rooted in the German deep-sea fishing industry, originating with the company Nordstern AG in 1905. Over the decades, it evolved through various acquisitions, notably by entrepreneur Dirk Ahlers, who consolidated several frozen food firms into what eventually became FRoSTA AG in 1997.

Production is centralized in Europe, with major manufacturing facilities located in Bremerhaven, Lommatzsch, and Bobenheim-Roxheim in Germany, as well as a significant plant in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The brand is famous for its 'Purity Command' (Reinheitsgebot), a strict internal standard introduced in 2003 that prohibits the use of food additives, artificial aromas, and flavor enhancers across its entire product range.

Today, FRoSTA AG remains an independent, publicly traded company. It has expanded its portfolio by acquiring brands such as the Italian 'La Valle degli Orti' and continues to be a market leader in frozen ready meals in Germany and frozen fish in Poland, emphasizing sustainability and natural ingredients.
