Haribo Domino is a classic Scandinavian confectionery product, specifically a chewy licorice and winegum hybrid coated in sugar. While the Haribo brand originated in Germany, this specific product is deeply rooted in the Danish market and is manufactured at the Haribo production facility in Faxe, Denmark.
Haribo was founded in 1920 by Hans Riegel in Bonn, Germany (the name is an acronym for HAns RIegel BOnn). The brand expanded into Denmark in 1935 through a partnership with Eckhof Hansen, leading to the creation of Haribo Lakrids A/S. Today, Haribo remains a private, family-owned company, with ownership divided among the descendants of the Riegel family. The Danish subsidiary, Haribo Produktion A/S, continues to produce regional favorites like Domino, Matador Mix, and Piratos for the Nordic market.
