Herta Finesse is a prominent line of high-quality cold cuts and sliced meats, best known for its wafer-thin ham and poultry products. The brand originated in Herten, Germany, where Ludwig Schweisfurth opened a butcher shop in 1902. Over the decades, Herta transformed from a local shop into a massive international brand, becoming particularly famous for its Frankfurters and 'Finesse' range of charcuterie.

In terms of ownership, the brand has undergone significant changes. Originally a family-owned German business, it was acquired by the Swiss food giant Nestlé in 1986. However, in a strategic move to focus more on plant-based products, Nestlé began divesting its meat business in 2019 by forming a joint venture with the Spanish company Casa Tarradellas. By 2026, following the completion of a multi-year exit strategy, Casa Tarradellas has become the ultimate owner of the Herta meat and charcuterie business, including the Finesse line.

Manufacturing takes place across several European locations to serve local markets, with major production facilities remaining in Germany and France to ensure the continuity and quality of the brand's heritage products.
