Granini is a renowned international fruit juice brand, easily recognized by its iconic dimpled transparent bottle. The brand's history began in 1965 when Heinz Schürmann, an importer of Italian fine foods, introduced the juice to the German market under the name 'granini Trinkfrucht.' Inspired by the Italian lifestyle, the brand quickly became a staple in Germany and expanded across Europe throughout the 1970s and 80s.
In 1994, the brand was acquired from the Melitta Group by the German company Eckes AG, leading to the formation of the Eckes-Granini Group. Since 2006, the group has focused exclusively on fruit-based beverages. Today, Granini is produced in various European locations including Germany, France, and Spain, ensuring proximity to local markets and reducing transport emissions. It remains a core brand of the Eckes-Granini Group, which is an independent, family-owned German company headquartered in Nieder-Olm.
