Maxalt Max 10mg rizatriptan

Maxalt Max is a prescription medication containing rizatriptan benzoate, used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks. The brand was originally developed and patented by the American pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. (known as MSD outside the US and Canada) in 1991, with medical approval following in 1998.

In 2021, Merck spun off its women's health, legacy brands, and biosimilars businesses into a new independent public company called Organon & Co. As part of this transition, the Maxalt brand was transferred to Organon. While Organon is headquartered in the United States, its manufacturing operations are global; the product is produced in various locations including Ireland and Spain, often involving active ingredients sourced from international suppliers. In Spain, the product is managed by the local subsidiary Organon Salud, S.L.
