TCX is a prominent Italian brand specializing in technical protective footwear for motorcyclists. Originally founded in Montebelluna, Italy, the brand has built a reputation for innovation, specifically with its Torsion Control System (TCS) technology used in professional racing. While the brand remains deeply rooted in Italian design and research, the physical manufacturing of its boots is largely carried out in Romania and other low-cost production centers to balance craftsmanship with global demand.
In 2020, the brand underwent a significant corporate change when it was acquired by Dainese, another legendary Italian motorcycle gear manufacturer. This acquisition brought TCX into a powerhouse portfolio alongside brands like AGV helmets. Since 2022, the ultimate owner of the brand and its parent company, Dainese, is the global investment firm Carlyle Group, which purchased the group from Investcorp. This ownership structure places TCX under the umbrella of a major American private equity firm, while maintaining its headquarters and design operations in Italy.
