Fiat was originally founded in 1899 in Turin by a group of investors including Giovanni Agnelli. Over the decades, it grew into Italy's largest automaker. As of the early 2020s, the brand is a key pillar of Stellantis, a global automotive giant formed by the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Groupe PSA.
