Kodak photography and imaging products

Eastman Kodak Company, commonly known as Kodak, is an American public company that produces various products related to its historic basis in analogue photography. Founded by George Eastman and Henry A. Strong on September 4, 1888, the company dominated the photographic film market for most of the 20th century. During the late 1990s, Kodak began to struggle financially as a result of the decline in sales of photographic film and its slowness in transitioning to digital photography.

Today, Kodak operates as a streamlined technology company focusing on imaging for business. It provides hardware, software, consumables, and services to customers in graphic arts, commercial print, publishing, packaging, electronic displays, entertainment and commercial films, and consumer products markets. While it manufactures several of its core industrial products in the United States, specifically in Rochester, New York, many of its consumer electronics and film cameras are produced through brand licensing agreements with manufacturers in various countries including China.

Kodak remains an independent American entity, although it has undergone significant restructuring following its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in 2012. It emerged in 2013 as a much smaller company with a focus on commercial imaging and printing. The brand is globally recognized and continues to license its name for a wide range of consumer technology products while maintaining its own manufacturing legacy in film and chemistry.
