Agfa, formally known as Agfa-Gevaert Group, is a historic brand synonymous with the evolution of photography and printing technology. Founded in Germany in the mid-19th century, the brand initially specialized in chemicals for photography before merging with the Belgian company Gevaert. This merger created a trans-European powerhouse in the imaging sector.

Today, Agfa operates globally with significant manufacturing facilities located in Mortsel, Belgium, and various sites across Germany. While the brand was once a household name for consumer film, it has successfully transitioned its core business to professional imaging solutions, including health care IT, digital printing, and industrial chemicals.
