Melinda's Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce

Melinda's is a pioneering brand in the craft hot sauce industry, credited with being the first to introduce habanero-based sauces to the American market. The brand was originally established in Belize in 1989 by the Figueroa brothers using peppers grown on a local farm owned by Marie Sharp. Following a legal dispute over the trademark, the brand ownership transitioned to the Figueroa brothers' company, and production was moved out of Belize.

Today, Melinda's is headquartered in Irving, Texas, and operates under Melinda's Foods, LLC. Most of their sauces, including this Sriracha variant, are manufactured in Colombia to take advantage of high-quality fresh produce and regional chili cultivation. The brand is celebrated for its 'fresh-first' philosophy, focusing on the flavor profile of the peppers rather than just raw heat. It remains a privately owned entity by its original American founders.
