Larsen Sherry Sill

Larsen is a well-established brand specializing in premium seafood products, particularly preserved fish like herring (Sill) and trout. Originally founded in Germany, the brand has built a reputation for high-quality Nordic-style delicacies. The Sherry Sill featured in the image is a classic example of their specialty range, consisting of pickled herring in a flavored marinade.

Starting as a family-owned business in northern Germany (Bremerhaven/Harrislee), Larsen was eventually integrated into the Scandinavian Swiss-based group, Orkla. However, following strategic realignments in the 2020s, the Larsen brand and its production facilities in Harrislee were acquired by the Icelandic seafood giant Samherji through its subsidiary Icefresh. Today, the products are primarily manufactured in Germany, continuing the brand's long-standing heritage in the region under the ownership of one of Europe's largest fishing companies.
