Augustiner-Bräu Lagerbier Hell

Augustiner-Bräu is Munich's oldest independent brewery, with a history dating back to 1328 when it was established within an Augustinian monastery. The 'Lagerbier Hell' is their most iconic product, often referred to simply as 'Augustiner Hell'. It is widely celebrated for its traditional brewing methods and is a staple of Bavarian beer culture.

While many large Munich breweries have been acquired by multinational conglomerates, Augustiner remains fiercely independent. It is owned by the Edith-Haberland-Wagner Foundation, which ensures the brewery preserves its historical traditions and supports local charitable causes. All production takes place in Munich, Germany, adhering strictly to the Reinheitsgebot (Bavarian Purity Law).
