Daddies Tomato Ketchup is a historic British brand that has been a staple in UK households for over a century. The brand's origins date back to 1904, when it was launched by the Midland Vinegar Company in Birmingham. The recipe itself was originally created by Frederick Gibson Garton, a Nottingham grocer who also developed the world-famous HP Sauce before selling the recipes to Edwin Samson Moore, the owner of Midland Vinegar.

Over the decades, the brand's ownership transitioned through several major food conglomerates. It was part of HP Foods for many years and was later owned by Groupe Danone. In 2005, the brand was acquired by the H.J. Heinz Company as part of its purchase of HP Foods. Following this acquisition, manufacturing was moved away from the traditional factory in Birmingham. Today, the product is primarily manufactured in Poland, often at the same facilities used for other Kraft Heinz sauce brands for the European market.

Despite the change in manufacturing location and global ownership, Daddies remains a uniquely British brand in terms of its market presence and flavor profile. It is known for its distinctively tangy and vinegary taste compared to the sweeter profile of its stablemate, Heinz Tomato Ketchup, and remains a cult favorite in British chip shops and cafes. The brand is currently managed under the massive portfolio of The Kraft Heinz Company, headquartered in the United States.
