Over the decades, ownership of UPSA has changed multiple times. After being part of the American group Bristol-Myers Squibb for several years, the brand and the company were acquired by the Japanese pharmaceutical giant Taisho Pharmaceutical in 2019. Today, UPSA operates as a key subsidiary of Taisho, continuing its long-standing tradition of French-based manufacturing under Japanese corporate leadership.
