Flensburger Winterbock is a seasonal strong lager produced by the Flensburger Brauerei. This specific variety is known for its rich, malty profile typical of German 'Bock' beers and is traditionally released during the colder winter months. The brewery is famous for its iconic swing-top bottles (plopp-verschluss), which have become a hallmark of the brand's identity.
Founded in 1888, the Flensburger Brauerei remains one of the few large independent family-owned breweries in Germany. Unlike many other major German beverage brands that have been absorbed by global conglomerates, Flensburger has maintained its independence and local roots in Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein. All production and bottling continue to take place at their historic site in northern Germany, utilizing water from their own well and local ingredients.
