Founded in 1931 by Dr. Prosper Haller and Georges Guérin, Vichy is a pioneering dermo-cosmetic brand rooted in the therapeutic properties of Volcanic Water from the French town of Vichy. The brand was established following the discovery of the water's unique ability to soothe and fortify the skin, leading to the creation of the Vichy Laboratoires.

Today, Vichy is a global leader in the pharmacy skincare sector, known for its rigorous clinical testing and collaboration with dermatologists. While the brand started as an independent clinical laboratory, it has since become a cornerstone of the international beauty market.

In 1955, the brand was acquired by the French beauty giant L'Oréal. It currently operates within L'Oréal's Dermatological Beauty division. The majority of its production remains in France, specifically at the Vichy factory, to maintain proximity to its thermal water source, though global distribution often involves regional logistical hubs.
