Schweppes carbonated beverages

Schweppes is a pioneering soft drink brand with a rich history dating back to 1783. Founded in Geneva, Switzerland, by Johann Jacob Schweppe, the brand is credited with inventing the world's first practical process for mass-producing carbonated mineral water. In 1792, Schweppe moved to London, which became the brand's spiritual home and led to the acquisition of a British Royal Warrant in 1836.

Today, Schweppes operates under a unique, fragmented global ownership model following the 2008 demerger of Cadbury Schweppes. The Coca-Cola Company holds the rights to the brand in over 150 countries, including the United Kingdom and much of Africa and Asia. In North America (USA and Canada), the brand is owned and manufactured by Keurig Dr Pepper. In Australia and New Zealand, it is owned by Asahi Group Holdings, while Suntory Group manages the brand in several key European markets like France and Spain. Because of this localized licensing, Schweppes is produced in regional bottling plants worldwide to ensure freshness and cater to local taste preferences.
