Originally launched in France in 1952, the brand was a smaller version of the larger 'Bonbel' cheese. The brand is manufactured primarily in France at the Evron plant, which is one of the largest cheese-making facilities in the world. However, to meet global demand, the brand also maintains production facilities in other countries including the USA (Kentucky and South Dakota) and Slovakia. The cheese itself is a semi-hard variety inspired by Dutch Edam style.
