Remia Friteslijn is a iconic Dutch condiment, recognized as a healthier, low-fat alternative to traditional mayonnaise or fries sauce. Introduced as a pioneer in the 'light' category, it has become a staple in Dutch households for those seeking a creamier taste with fewer calories.
The brand's history dates back to 1925 when Arie de Rooij began blending margarines in his garage in Amersfoort. Over the decades, Remia evolved from a small family operation into one of the most prominent sauce manufacturers in Europe. Unlike many other major food brands that have been acquired by global conglomerates, Remia remains an independent family-owned business.
Today, production is centralized at their state-of-the-art facility in Den Dolder, Netherlands. The company maintains full control over its supply chain and product development, continuing to innovate within the chilled and shelf-stable sauce markets while keeping its Dutch heritage at the core of its operations.
