Toms Yankie Bar

The Yankie Bar is a classic Danish chocolate bar consisting of a soft cocoa-flavored nougat and caramel filling covered in milk chocolate. Despite its American-sounding name, the product is entirely Danish in origin. It was launched in 1946 by Toms International right after World War II.

The name was a tribute to the American GIS (Allied troops) stationed in Germany and Denmark following the war. To this day, the Yankie Bar remains one of Denmark's most beloved chocolate snacks, produced by Toms Group at their factory in Ballerup, Denmark. The brand has maintained its iconic standing for over 75 years under the stewardship of the Toms Group, which is owned by the Gerda and Victor B. Strand Foundation.
