Supreme is an iconic American lifestyle brand that began as a small skate shop in Lower Manhattan in 1994. Founded by James Jebbia, the brand became famous for its 'Box Logo' and limited-edition drops, bridging the gap between skateboarding culture and high-end luxury fashion.
While the brand's heritage is deeply rooted in New York City, its manufacturing has expanded globally. Many of its signature heavy fleece products, like the iconic Box Logo hoodies, have historically been manufactured in Canada due to the high-quality cotton production there. However, other apparel items and accessories are produced in various locations including the United States, China, and Portugal.
In a major shift for the brand's corporate structure, Supreme was acquired by VF Corporation in 2020. More recently, in 2024, it was announced that the eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica entered into an agreement to acquire the brand, marking a new chapter for Supreme under European ownership starting in late 2024 and heading into 2025.
