The brand focuses on natural ingredients, specifically Lumiphenols, which are antioxidants extracted from the Sempervivum Tectorum plant.

Historically, the brand was launched by Alès Groupe, a French cosmetics giant known for brands like Lierac and Phyto. In 2020, Alès Groupe was acquired by Impala SAS, a French industrial holding company. Since the acquisition, Jowaé has continued to emphasize its identity as a bridge between French dermo-cosmetics and South Korean medicinal heritage, with most of its products manufactured in France to maintain high pharmaceutical standards.
