Sennheiser is one of the world's most prestigious audio brands, founded in June 1945 by Dr. Fritz Sennheiser in Germany. Originally established as 'Laboratorio W' shortly after World War II, the company eventually rebranded into the global electronics titan known today for high-fidelity audio equipment.

Historically, Sennheiser operated across both consumer and professional audio sectors. In a significant corporate shift in 2022, the Swiss medical-audiology giant Sonova Holding AG acquired Sennheiser’s Consumer Electronics division. This means that while Sennheiser Electronic GmbH & Co. KG continues to own and operate the Professional Audio business (Studio, Live Sound, and Business Communication), consumer products like the MOMENTUM and HD headphone series are now developed and marketed under license by Sonova. Manufacturing remains high-tech and distributed, with specialized facilities in Germany for premium products and various international sites for global distribution.
