Splendid is an iconic Italian coffee brand that was founded in 1969 in Turin. It quickly became a household name across Italy, known for its focus on providing a traditional 'bar-style' espresso experience at home. Over the decades, the ownership of Splendid has transitioned through several major food and beverage conglomerates. Originally an independent Italian label, it was notably part of the Kraft Foods and later Mondelez International portfolios. In 2015, following a major merger of coffee business units, the brand became part of JDE Peet's. Today, JDE Peet's is the world's largest pure-play coffee and tea company, headquartered in the Netherlands and majority-owned by the investment firm JAB Holding Company. Despite its international ownership, Splendid remains deeply rooted in the Italian market and continues to be manufactured in Italy to maintain its authentic flavor profiles.
