Originally launched in 1994, the brand was developed by Ringnes, Norway's largest brewery, specifically to coincide with the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. Today, the brand remains under the ownership of the Ringnes company, which itself is a subsidiary of the Carlsberg Group.
