Although the Sainsbury family still retains a minority stake, the ultimate ownership is distributed among institutional investors, with the Qatar Investment Authority currently holding the largest individual shareholding. The company continues to operate from its headquarters in London, maintaining its status as a cornerstone of the British high street.
