Carletti is a distinguished Danish confectionery brand with a history spanning over a century. The brand's roots go back to 1918 when it was founded in Aarhus, Denmark, by the Jacobsen brothers. The name 'Carletti' was chosen as a tribute to Niels Carl Jacobsen, who passed away shortly after the company's inception; 'Carletti' translates to 'little Carl' in Italian.

Since 2006, Carletti has been 100% owned by the Givesco Group, a Danish family-owned holding company with deep expertise in the food and bakery sectors. Carletti operates as a key player in the Northern European chocolate and candy market, maintaining a diverse portfolio that includes filled chocolates, lentils, and classic items like chocolate-covered bananas. Manufacturing is conducted across multiple specialized facilities, specifically at its headquarters in Skødstrup (near Aarhus) and Vejle in Denmark, as well as a production site in Poland. The company also oversees subsidiaries in Finland through Makua Foods. As of 2026, the brand remains a core asset of Givesco Group, which continues to manage Carletti as a foundation-backed, long-term legacy investment.
