The brand's history began in Switzerland in 1930 under the name 'Thomi's Mustard,' later changing to 'Thomy' to sound more international. It achieved a major innovation in 1954 by being the first brand in Europe to sell mustard in aluminum tubes.

Today, Thomy is a major international brand produced in various European locations including Switzerland, Germany, and Serbia to serve different regional markets. While it retains its Swiss heritage and high quality standards, it is part of a global supply chain.

In 1971, the brand was acquired by the Swiss multinational Nestlé. Under Nestlé's ownership, Thomy has expanded its product range significantly to include salad dressings, cooking oils, and various flavored ketchups and sauces, maintaining its position as a market leader in Central Europe.
