Lancôme cosmetics

Lancôme is a prestigious French luxury beauty house established in 1935 by Armand Petitjean and Guillaume d'Ornano. The brand's name was inspired by the forest of Lancosme in central France, and its iconic single gold rose logo was drawn from the wild roses surrounding the ruins of Le Château de Lancosme. Originally founded as a fragrance house, Lancôme debuted five scents at the 1935 World's Fair in Brussels before expanding into skincare with its famous Nutrix cream in 1936.

In 1964, Lancôme was acquired by the French cosmetics giant L'Oréal, becoming the cornerstone of its Luxe Division. Today, Lancôme remains one of the world's leading luxury beauty brands, known for its scientifically advanced skincare, high-end makeup, and iconic fragrances. While the heart of its production remains in specialized facilities in France—particularly for its premium serums and perfumes—the brand utilizes L'Oréal's global manufacturing network to meet international demand, with some products manufactured in countries like the United States and Japan depending on the specific product line.
