Petrom

Petrom is the largest energy company in Romania and a major player in Southeastern Europe. Founded as a state-owned entity, it underwent a significant transformation following its privatization in 2004. Today, it operates an extensive network of filling stations across Romania and Moldova, providing fuels, lubricants, and various retail services to millions of customers annually.

The brand's origin is deeply rooted in the Romanian petroleum industry, dating back to the late 20th century. Following its acquisition by the Austrian energy giant OMV, Petrom has integrated advanced European standards into its production and distribution processes. Its operations span the entire energy value chain, from exploration and production of oil and gas to refining and petrochemicals, as well as power generation.

OMV Petrom is currently controlled by OMV AG, which holds a majority stake and manages the brand's strategic direction from its headquarters in Vienna. This partnership has allowed Petrom to modernize its infrastructure and maintain a dominant position in the regional market while continuing to be a symbol of Romanian industrial heritage.
