Paulaner Weissbier

Paulaner Weissbier is one of the most iconic beers globally, originating from Munich, Germany. The brand's history dates back to 1634 when it was first brewed by the Minim friars of the Neudeck ob der Au cloister. The name Paulaner refers to the founder of the order, Francis of Paola.

Today, Paulaner is one of the six breweries that provide beer for Oktoberfest. While it maintains its deep Bavarian roots and traditional brewing methods in accordance with the German Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot), its ownership has evolved into a joint venture model. The brewery is strictly headquartered and brewed in Munich to maintain its authentic status as a 'Munich Beer'.

The brand is currently owned by the Paulaner Brauerei Gruppe GmbH & Co. KGaA. This parent company is a joint venture between the Schörghuber Unternehmensgruppe (holding a 70% stake) and the Dutch brewing giant Heineken International (holding a 30% stake). This partnership has allowed the brand to expand its distribution significantly while preserving its heritage as a classic Munich wheat beer.
