Lotus Biscoff, originally known as Lotus Speculoos, is a world-renowned brand famous for its unique caramelized biscuit flavour. The story began in 1932 in Lembeke, Belgium, when baker Jan Boone Sr. created a biscuit made of natural ingredients that paired perfectly with coffee. The brand eventually expanded beyond the traditional biscuit to include smooth and crunchy spreads, as well as various cake products like Frangipane.

Today, Lotus Bakeries remains a family-owned company, though it is publicly traded on the Euronext Brussels. While the headquarters and primary production remain in Belgium, the company has expanded its manufacturing footprint internationally, including a major production facility in the United States to meet global demand. The brand continues to be managed by the Boone family, maintaining its heritage while operating as a global snack industry powerhouse.
