Melinda Golden Apple

Melinda is an Italian consortium of apple producers located in the Val di Non and Val di Sole valleys in the Trentino region. The Melinda Golden Delicious is one of their most iconic products, recognized for its yellow color and sweet, crisp flavor. The brand operates as a cooperative, representing over 4,000 fruit-growing families who cultivate apples in accordance with strict quality and environmental standards.

The consortium was established in 1989 to protect the identity and quality of apples grown in these specific geographical areas. Since 2003, Melinda apples from Val di Non have been granted PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) status by the European Union, guaranteeing that the production process and geographical origin meet specific high-quality criteria. The apples are stored in underground caves (known as 'Ipogeo' cells) to maintain freshness without significant energy impact.
