Carr's is a historic British brand with a legacy dating back to 1831, when Jonathan Dodgson Carr founded a small bakery and biscuit factory in Carlisle, Cumbria. The brand became famous for its vertical integration, operating both a flour mill and a bakery, and was one of the first to receive a Royal Warrant from the British monarchy. Carr's Melts Cheese are premium savoury crackers known for their light, crispy texture and distinctive cheese seasoning.
Today, the brand is owned by Pladis Global, a multi-national confectionery and snacking company. While the brand has a global presence, including a distribution partnership with Kellanova (formerly Kellogg Company) in North America, its heart remains in the UK. The products continue to be manufactured primarily at the historic biscuit factory in Carlisle, which is often referred to locally as the 'Carr's factory' despite being part of the broader Pladis network through its subsidiary, United Biscuits.
