Dilling is a long-standing Danish family-owned brand founded in 1916 by Andreas Bertelsen. The company has evolved through four generations of the Bertelsen family, transitioning from a local knitting business into a modern, eco-conscious vertical manufacturer known for its high-quality organic wool and cotton underwear.

The brand's manufacturing process is transparent and spans several European locations. While the raw organic merino wool is often sourced from sheep in Argentina, the treatment and dyeing of fabrics take place at the company's own Nordic Swan Ecolabel-certified dyehouse in Bredsten, Denmark. The final sewing and cutting of garments primarily occur at their own factory in Lithuania. Some specific products like socks may be produced in Turkey or China.

Ownership has remained strictly within the family for over a century. Currently, Morten Dilling Bertelsen represents the fourth generation as the owner and CEO, having rebranded the company (formerly known as Anky) to Dilling in 2020. The brand operates with a direct-to-consumer model, selling primarily through its own international webshops to maintain quality and ethical standards.
