New Era Mineral Tissue Salts, including the Combination Q formula for catarrh and sinus support, have a long history dating back to the late 19th century. The system was originally developed by German physician Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Schüßler, who theorized that mineral deficiencies at the cellular level could impact health. The brand became a staple in the United Kingdom health trade after being introduced in 1923 by The New Era Treatment Co of London.

While originally manufactured in Hull, UK, for many decades, the brand's ownership shifted in 2013. It was acquired from the Merck Group (which had previously purchased the former owner, Seven Seas) by its Italian distributor, Olimed Limited. Olimed is a subsidiary of NAMED S.p.A., a prominent Italian natural medicine company. Consequently, modern New Era products are manufactured in Italy to high pharmaceutical standards, incorporating 'FastMelt' technology and added biotin to distinguish them from other traditional Schüßler salts.
