Fudco is a prominent British Asian food brand that has become a household name for high-quality ethnic ingredients in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1979 by brothers Sheilesh and Akhil Shah, the brand began as a single retail shop on Ealing Road in Wembley, London. Over the decades, it expanded from a local family business into a major supplier for national supermarkets like Sainsbury's, known for its extensive range of nuts, spices, pulses, and specialty flours.

While the brand's identity and headquarters are firmly rooted in the UK (specifically in Willesden, London), the raw ingredients are sourced globally to ensure authenticity and quality. For instance, many of their lentils and pulses are sourced directly from India, while specific nuts like cashews are often imported from Kerala. The products are typically processed, quality-checked, and packaged at their UK facilities.

In April 2021, Fudco underwent a significant ownership change when it was acquired by Vibrant Foods, an ethnic foods platform created by the UK-based private equity firm Exponent Private Equity. Vibrant Foods also owns other leading Asian food brands such as TRS, East End, and Cofresh, consolidating Fudco into one of Europe's largest South Asian food groups. Despite this acquisition, the brand maintains its commitment to the family-founded values and premium quality that established its reputation.
