Knoppers is a well-known layered wafer snack that was originally launched in West Germany in 1983. It is characterized by its five distinct layers: a crispy baked wafer, a smooth milky cream, another wafer, a roasted hazelnut cream filling, and a final wafer topped with a chocolate coating. The brand has grown from a popular local German tea-time snack into an international confectionery staple sold in over 50 countries.

Today, Knoppers remains a flagship brand of August Storck KG, a family-owned German confectionery company with a history dating back to 1903. Production is primary concentrated in Germany, particularly at Storck's large manufacturing plants in Halle (Westf.) and Berlin. This ensures consistency in quality for its global distribution network, which spans across Europe, North America, Oceania, and Asia.
