Siera vintage radio

Siera is a historic electronics brand with deep roots in the Belgian market. Founded in Brussels in 1932 as 'Société Indépendante pour l'Exportation d'Articles Radio', it was established as a subsidiary of the Dutch electronics giant Philips. The brand served as a secondary label for Philips, offering high-quality radios and household appliances often at a more accessible price point than the main Philips line.

Historically, Siera radios were primarily manufactured in Belgium, particularly at Philips' facilities in Leuven and Bruges. However, production also occurred in the Netherlands and other European countries to meet export demands. By the late 20th century, following broader industry trends, some production shifted to Asian manufacturing hubs.

While the brand was eventually phased out in most European markets by the 1990s as Philips consolidated its portfolio, the Siera name continues to exist today through licensing and independent joint ventures. In Morocco, for instance, the brand remains highly prominent under the Manar industrial group, which originally partnered with Philips in the 1960s to locally manufacture Siera products.
