Gin Mare

Gin Mare is a renowned ultra-premium gin that serves as a liquid tribute to the Mediterranean lifestyle. It was launched in 2010 through a collaboration between the Giró family of MG Destilerías and the marketing firm Vantguard (founded by Alfonso Morodo and Antonio Pardo). The gin is celebrated for its unique botanical profile, which includes Arbequina olives from Spain, basil from Italy, rosemary from Greece, and thyme from Turkey.

Historically, the product has been distilled in a custom-made copper still located inside an 18th-century chapel in Vilanova i la Geltrú, a small fishing village south of Barcelona. This production site remains the heart of the brand today. In late 2022, the brand was acquired by the American spirits giant Brown-Forman Corporation, known for owning iconic brands like Jack Daniel's. Despite the change in ownership, the production process continues at the original MG Destilerías facility to maintain the authentic quality and heritage of the Mediterranean spirit.
