Billy's is a popular Swedish brand of frozen pan pizza, specifically designed for quick microwave preparation. The brand was launched in 1993 by Gunnar Dafgård AB, Sweden's largest private food producer. The idea for the rectangular shape and the brand name itself reportedly came from Gunnar Dafgård after a trip to Italy and the United States, with the name 'Billy' being a nod to Bill Clinton, who was the U.S. President at the time of the brand's launch.
The product is manufactured in Källby, Sweden, where Gunnar Dafgård AB has its primary production facilities. This facility produces millions of Billy's pizzas annually, which are sold throughout Scandinavia and Finland.
Ownership remains with the Dafgård family through their company, Gunnar Dafgård AB. The company is currently managed by the third generation of the family and remains one of Sweden's most successful private food enterprises, also famous for producing the iconic meatballs sold in IKEA stores across Europe.
