Paredes is a historic Spanish footwear brand founded in 1954 by José Paredes Castaño in Elche, Alicante. The brand is credited with introducing the concept of leisure and sports footwear to the Spanish market in the 1970s. During the 1980s, it became a household name and the leading seller of sports shoes in Spain, famously sponsoring the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
Today, the brand operates under the family-owned holding company, Paredes Holding Center, specifically through the subsidiary Pacal Shoes S.L. for its fashion and sports lines, and Paredes Seguridad for its specialized work and safety footwear. While the company maintains design and specialized manufacturing facilities in Elche, much of its large-scale production is carried out in international locations to remain competitive in the global market. The business remains under the management of the second generation of the Paredes family, specifically the founder's children Rafael and Francisco Paredes.
