Hero Jam

Hero is an iconic international brand specialized in fruit spreads, jams, and baby food. Founded in 1886 in Lenzburg, Switzerland, by Gustav Henckell and Gustav Zeiler, the company has grown into a global leader in the 'Naturally Good Food' category. The brand name 'Hero' was derived from the first two letters of the surnames of Henckell and his later partner Carl Roth (HE-RO).

While the brand maintains its headquarters and heritage in Switzerland, its manufacturing is decentralized to meet global demand efficiently. Significant production occurs in Spain, which hosts the group's largest factory in Murcia and serves as a primary hub for Europe. Additionally, the Hero Group operates major production facilities in Egypt (serving the Middle East and Africa) and Brazil (through its subsidiary Hero Brazil). Recent strategic shifts have seen the closure of some Swiss manufacturing lines in favor of expanding these larger international facilities to remain competitive.

The Hero Group is a privately held company. Since 1995, it has been under the majority ownership and stewardship of the Oetker family, which took full control in 2003. This ownership provides the brand with long-term stability and a focus on premium, natural ingredients across its diverse portfolio of brands including Corny, Beech-Nut, and Organix.
