Rocky Mountain Bicycles

Rocky Mountain Bicycles is a legendary Canadian brand born in 1981 on Vancouver's North Shore. Originally established by employees of West Point Cycles, the brand became a pioneer in the mountain bike movement, specifically tailored for the technical and rugged terrain of British Columbia. For decades, the brand was synonymous with the freeride scene and high-performance trail riding.

Historically, Rocky Mountain frames were hand-built in Canada, but like many global bicycle manufacturers, production shifted over time. Today, while research, development, and high-level design remain firmly rooted in North Vancouver, the physical manufacturing of frames is primarily conducted in Taiwan—a global hub for high-end bicycle engineering—with final assembly and quality control occurring in their Canadian facilities.

In early 2025, after a period of restructuring, the brand entered a new era under the ownership of Chaos Sports Inc., a group of Canadian investors. This transition returned the brand to private Canadian hands, with a strategic focus on expanding its global footprint while maintaining its heritage as a rider-focused, North Shore-inspired company.
