Puntigamer beer

Puntigamer is one of Austria's most popular beer brands, deeply rooted in the brewing traditions of the city of Graz. Its history dates back to 1838 when the brewery was officially established in the Puntigam district, although brewing activities in the area are recorded even earlier. Known as 'Das bierige Bier' (The beery beer), it has become a central part of Styrian identity and Austrian hospitality.

Today, the brand is owned by Brau Union Österreich AG, the largest brewing company in Austria. Brau Union itself is a subsidiary of the Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V., which acquired the group in 2003. Despite this international ownership, Puntigamer remains a quintessentially Austrian brand, with its primary production still centered in the Brewery Puntigam in Graz, maintaining its local heritage while benefiting from a global distribution network.
