Ültje is a storied German brand that has become synonymous with roasted peanuts and nut specialties. The brand's journey began in 1867 when Alfred Russell established his import business in Emden, East Friesland. It wasn't until 1949 that his successors began roasting peanuts and selling them under the name 'Ültje,' which means 'peanut' in the local East Frisian dialect. The brand achieved cult status in Germany during the 1980s and 90s, largely due to its iconic 'Ültjemann' mascot and catchy advertising jingles.

Over the decades, the brand's ownership has transitioned through several major food groups. It was part of the Oetker Group from 1985 until 1997. In 2000, it merged with Felix and Granaria Food to form 'The Nut Company' (TNC), which was then the largest nut group in Europe. In 2008, TNC merged with Intersnack to form the Intersnack Group. Today, the brand is part of the extensive portfolio of Intersnack Deutschland SE, which is ultimately owned by the Pfeifer & Langen industrial group.

The Ültje Genuss Mix specifically is produced in Germany, with primary manufacturing facilities located in Schwerte and Olsberg. The mix typically includes a selection of roasted and salted peanuts, almonds, cashews, and pistachios, maintaining the brand's long-standing tradition of high-quality nut processing.
