Over the decades, the company evolved from agricultural rope production to pioneering specialized mountaineering ropes, eventually expanding into high-performance technical apparel, footwear, and climbing hardware. Today, the brand is widely recognized for its 'Eiger Extreme' collection and its commitment to alpine safety and innovation.

While the brand maintains its soul and headquarters in Seon, Switzerland—where product engineering, design, and quality control are strictly managed—the actual manufacturing process takes place globally. Production is distributed across various locations in Europe and Asia to leverage specialized technical manufacturing capabilities. In 2021, the brand transitioned to new ownership when the British investment firm Telemos Capital acquired it from the Swiss holding company Conzzeta. Under this ownership, Mammut continues to focus on its identity as a technical mountain performance brand while expanding its global presence.
