Loctite Super Attak is a high-performance instant adhesive, commonly known as super glue, utilized for a wide range of household and industrial repairs. The brand's journey began in 1953 in a laboratory at Trinity College in Connecticut, where Vernon Krieble and his son Robert developed the first anaerobic adhesive. This revolutionary technology led to the formation of the American Sealants Company, which later became the Loctite Corporation.
In 1997, the German multinational Henkel AG & Co. KGaA acquired Loctite in a major transaction, integrating it into its Adhesive Technologies business unit. Today, Loctite remains Henkel's largest brand. While it originated in the United States, its manufacturing operations are now global to serve markets in over 80 countries. Henkel is headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany, and continues to be the ultimate owner and driver of innovation for the Loctite product line into 2026 and beyond.
