Frasers is the premium department store brand under the Frasers Group. The brand's lineage traces back to 1849, when it was established in Glasgow, Scotland, as Arthur and Fraser. Over the following century, it evolved into House of Fraser, becoming a staple of the British high street through a series of major acquisitions including Harrods and the Scottish Drapery Corporation. In 2018, following financial difficulties, the business was acquired by Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct International, which subsequently rebranded the entire group as Frasers Group plc in 2019 to reflect its new 'elevation strategy' and move toward luxury retail.
As a retail platform rather than a single manufacturer, products sold under the Frasers name or within its stores are sourced globally. While the company maintains significant roots in the United Kingdom, its supply chain for apparel, home goods, and cosmetics spans multiple countries across Europe and Asia. The brand is currently undergoing a transformation, with many legacy House of Fraser locations being rebranded simply as 'Frasers' to align with the group's premium market positioning.
