AMA is a classic Danish brand with roots dating back to 1907. The name 'AMA' is an acronym for Aalborg Margarinefabrik, the original company where the brand was founded in the city of Aalborg, Denmark. Over the decades, it has evolved from traditional solid margarine to include innovative products like the liquid margarine shown here, which is specifically formulated for frying (stegning) and enriched with Omega-3 fatty acids.

Today, the brand is owned by Dragsbæk A/S, which is Denmark's only remaining margarine producer. Dragsbæk is based in Thisted and is itself a subsidiary of the Norwegian Orkla Group. The product is manufactured locally in Denmark, maintaining a long-standing tradition of Danish food production while benefiting from the resources of a major Nordic conglomerate.
